Fifteen Ledger Drawings by Southern Arapaho Artist Mad Bull (1883-1884), includes the cover with drawings on the inside, a single drawing with inscription on the opposite side, a single drawing, and six pages with twelve drawings, includes battle scenes, soldiers, ceremonial scenes, warrior societies, etc. The inside front cover, inscribed: Indian sketch book painted and sketched by Native Indians, LD. Tilton, U.S.A, Fort Reno I.T., Cheyenne and Arapaho Agency. Presentation inscription (on reverse side of the drawing with an Arapaho attacking a Shoshone warrior): Original sketches by a Cheyenne Indian, Fort Reno, I.T., for E.F. Riggs, Esq., with compliments of Palmer Tilton, Lieut. 20th U.S. Infantry, March 27, 1884 a compilation of extensive research, including photocopies, weapon comparisons, military histories, etc., by Plains Indian expert Michel Cowdrey is included.
