Martyl Schweig Langsdorf (American, b. 1918) Lot of Two Framed Works: Three Seated Men at a Village Corner and Dancers Three Men signed "martyl" l.r., inscribed "No 36" on the reverse, oil on paperboard, 7 7/8 x 13 3/4 in. (20.0 cm x 35.0 cm); Dancers signed "Martyl" l.r., mixed media on paperboard, sheet size 16 1/2 x 21 7/8 in. (42.0 x 55.5 cm). Condition: Three Men with toning, affixed to backing board with paper tape, Dancers good. Dancers with an ink sketch of a reclining female nude on the reverse, toning to sheet, very small hole in outermost layer of collaged paper in center (with surface still attached), likely original to the work. (see photos), mild craquelure and rippling l.c. in area of thicker impasto. Men with small tack hole l.l. corner, paper tape verso holding sheet to window mat.
