Walter Chappell (American, 1925-2000) Expire (sic) Yucca, Big Sur, 1964, printed 1964. Signed and dated "WALTER CHAPPELL 1964" in pencil on the mount, titled and dated in pencil on the reverse of the mount. Gelatin silver print, sheet/image size 7 3/4 x 9 3/4 in. (19.3 x 24.8 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Good. Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent. There are three very small indentations/scratches to the print surface l.r. visible in raking light. Photograph is mounted to a mat board sheet, measuring 14 x 17 inches. There is toning, light soiling, and small handling crease to the mount, also tack holes in the corners. The mount is inscribed in pencil on the reverse, "Expire Yucca/Big Sur 1964/Laffler Creek Darkroom/Vintage 1964" in the center and numbered "1989-2/22/WC1/0810" l.l., with a sticker l.r. that is inscribed "WC22/$100.00"
