Framed Theorem with a Tilted Bowl with Fruit, reportedly from Connecticut, 19th century, watercolor on velvet, (toning, stains), 15 x 18 in. , in a period molded giltwood frame. Provenance: Purchased by James Abbe from a descendant of the Thomas Dering family of Sag Harbor, New York; purchased from James Abbe, Jr., of Oyster Bay, New York, by the consignor. Some light moisture stains to u.l. corner area and u,c, background, scattered small light brown spots, some of the red pigment has browned.
