Pictorial Needlework Sampler, "Betty Oldham Finished 1849," worked in silk threads on a linen ground with a pious verse "A SHEPHERDS PIECE" over a scene depicting Christ as a shepherd resting on a hill before a manor house and buildings, figures, trees, and animals, with a floral border on three sides, (toning, small hole to background l. r.), 20 x 22 1/2 in., in a later molded wood frame.
