Needlework "Family Tree" Family Record Sampler, Waltham, Massachusetts, early 19th century, fully stitched silk threads on a linen ground, depicting the vital statistics of Joseph Garfield, b. August 17, 1761, his wife Susanna Hagar Garfield, b. August 20, 1769, married April 4, 1787, and their twelve children, their names and birthdates stitched on the fruit issuing from the tree, surrounded on three sides with a flowering vine, 20 1/2 x 16 in., in a period mahogany veneer frame.
