Ben Austrian (American, 1870-1921) Florida View Signed and dated "Ben Austrian 1915. " l.r., inscribed "On way to Jupiter/near Palm Beach Fla/Painting by/Ben Austrian/Reading Pa." on a gummed label affixed to the reverse. Oil on academy board, 12 1/8 x 10 1/4 in. (30.8 x 26.0 cm), framed. Condition: Warping, crack to surface c.r., surface grime, water staining to the reverse. The creak or break has been stabilized with masking tap on the reverse, and has been retouched. It is about 3 inches long. The curvature to the support is visible but unobtrusive. The painting would benefit from cleaning.
