Louise Berliawsky Nevelson (American, 1899-1988) Untitled Incised signature "NEVELSON" l. r., identified on labels affixed to the reverse. Black painted wood assemblage, 16 x 9 1/2 in. (40.6 x 24.1 cm). Condition: Craquelure, retouch, minor abrasions, minor surface dust. Provenance: Estate of an arts benefactor, New York. N.B. We wish to thank Mike Nevelson for his assistance with cataloguing the lot. Two faint hairline cracks to the l.r. less than 2 1/2 in. length. Small chip to the u.r. corner verso less than 1/4 x 1/8 in. Would benefit from a gentle cleaning.
