William McGregor Paxton (American, 1869-1941) Summer Vista Signed "PAXTON" l. r. Oil on canvas, 25 x 30 in. (63.5 x 76.2 cm), framed. Condition: Repairs, retouch, craquelure in areas of thickest impasto. Repairs and retouch, primarily to u.l. quadrant. Reparied tear 6 inches across with four shorter "arms" coming off below, the arms measuring from 2 to 1 inch/s. Two smaller jagged lines of retouch below this, measuring 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches each. Another area of retouch measuring 1 1/2 inches in center, just above horizon line. Scattered dots of retouch in general in left side of sky.
