Walter Gramatté (German, 1897-1929) Die Grosse Angst, 1918 (Eckhardt, 118). Signed and dated "Walter Gramatté 18" in pencil l.r., dated within the plate, dry stamp from Die Schaffenden l.l. Etching on paper, plate size 11 3/4 x 9 1/2 in. (29.8 x 24.0 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins 3/4 inches or more with deckled lower edge, unobtrusive toning. The sheet measures 15 5/8 x 12 1/8 inches. There is a gentle rub to the plate mark l.l. (right beneath the date in the plate). There are gentle handling creases. The verso is annotated in pencil along the lower edge.
