Pair of Elizabeth II Silver Models of Falcons, 1981-83, makers' mark JM MG, each highly realistically modeled raptor mounted to a turned wood, green leather, and marble base, one modeled poised for flight, full ht. 16 1/2, the other wearing a pink and gold patinated hood, full ht. 19 1/4 in. Note: Historically, the Tynwald (Parliament) of the Isle of Man presented the British monarch with a pair of falcons from c. 1405 to 1765. This pair of silver falcons are similar to the pair presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 1979 on the occasion of the millennium of the Isle of Man Tynwald. hood: 1983 without hood: 1981 good, with minor wear to leather stands and tassels.
