Civil War Naval Cutlass, Ames MFG. Co., Chicopee, Massachusetts, 1864, brass cupped knuckle bow and pommel with leather and wire-wrapped handle, marked at ricasso with maker's mark, date, and "USN" markings, with copper-riveted issue leather scabbard, blade lg. 26, overall lg. 32 3/4 in. CONDITION: Leather grip present with cracks and flaking, brass guard and pommel with mellow patina,a few small dents and small separation at riveted joinery.
