Mandarin's Court Necklace, Chao Zhu , China, 19th century, composed of ninety enameled beads spaced by four large pierced "connecting beads", the central one attached to a gourd-shaped head and suspending the beiyun , ("back cloud"), composed of a blue ribbon with an oval connecting plaque and weighed down by a teardrop-shaped end, the necklace is further enhanced by three strings of jinian , ("reminder"), each composed of ten beads and weighed down by teardrop-shaped pendants, lg. 43 in. minor loss of enamels
