Sevres Bronze-mounted Porcelain Vase and Cover, Paris, cover with gilt-bronze fruit finial, vase with a pierced bronze rim and handles joined to body by ram's head mounts, decorated allover with two landscape scenes and two scenes of courting couples, one signed "de Watteau," each framed by gilt cartouches on the turquoise ground, all on a flared foot mounted to a gilt-bronze base, cover bearing the interlaced L's mark enclosing date letter "B" for 1754-55, ht. 25 in. Scattered rubbing to gilt decoartion, inpainting to gilt rim of cover. Mark to base covered by mounting. Socle joining foot and body loose.
