English Violoncello, Benjamin Banks, Salisbury, 1792, bearing the maker's original label, length of back 73. 5 cm, with case. Certificate: Jacques Francais, New York, January 10, 1980. Fully restored by Mario D'Allesandro in 1978, repaired hairline back crack on right side of top button, extending approx. 38 cm. Repaired hairline rib cracks. Repaired top hairline crack from upper treble shoulder top lobe of treble ff. Repaired hairline bassbar crack, length of top. Other smaller repaired saddle cracks. Pegholes bushed.
