Abigail Osborn's Wallpaper-covered Dome-top Trinket Box, New Hampshire, c. 1835, rectangular box with hinged lid, the exterior covered with wallpaper with blue and black floral varnish-printed designs, the interior lined with newspaper, with a printed label with the initials "AHO," (toning, stains), ht. 4 3/4, wd. 6 3/4, dp. 4 7/8 in. Provenance: Purchased from Henry T. Osborne, at the Osborne homestead in Weare, New Hampshire. Henry was a direct descendant of Moses Osborn, a cabinetmaker working in Weare, New Hampshire. Note: Abigail H. Osborn was born March 21, 1821, in Weare, Hillsboro County, New Hampshire. She was the first child of six or seven born to Samuel (1789-1838) and Anna (Hoag, 1799-1874) Osborn. She was the granddaughter of cabinetmaker Moses Osborn.
