Aiden Lassell Ripley (American, 1896-1969) Grouse and Winter Food Signed and dated "A. Lassell Ripley © 1948" l.l., identified on a label from The Sporting Gallery and Bookshop, Inc., New York, on the frame backing paper. Watercolor on paper, sheet size 22 1/4 x 30 5/8 in. (56.0 x 78.0 cm), framed. Condition: Lightly glued to window mat across the top edge, tack holes to the edges, paper tape and cellophane tape remnants to the perimeter of the reverse. Inscribed "Reproduction rights reserved by the artist in ink on the back of the frame. Water damage to backing board u.l. corner penetrates through to the mat, but does not reach the sheet.
