Four Framed Silhouette Portraits, America, early 19th century, a pair of hollow-cut portraits of a man and woman by Isaac Todd (American, ac. 1807-1812), with embossed "Todd's Patent" mark under the busts, (toning), 4 1/2 x 3 3/8, in matching molded bird's-eye maple frames; and two hollow-cut silhouettes of a woman and man with penciled details, (toning, foxing), 3 7/8 x 3 3/8 in., in period molded giltwood frames. Provenance: According to typed labels attached to the back of one portrait, the Todd's Patent portraits were once in the collection of Miss Lillian Russell, and were purchased at the Russell sale c. 1922, possibly by an individual named T.J. Kurtz in 1934, who sold them to a "Mr. Reidenbach."
