Chinese/Vietnamese. 19th/20th Vietnamese style Shiwan-type covered vessels or teapots, possibly of Old Saigon. The vessels are palatial in size and modeled with ribbed scrolled handles, dragon mask form spouts and bamboo foliage handles. The inscription on each vessel is said to have medicinal healing powers. Each vessel comes on wood stand, possibly not original to the vessel. The pair are not an exact match with slight variations in height, handle form and the green to blue glaze. Similar vessels can be found in Ho Chiminh Museum of Fine Arts. Height 28.5"(on stand), width 20" (handle to spout). Height 29" (on stand), width 19.5" (handle to spout).
