Eugene Borisovich Dunkel (Russian/American, 1890-1972) Set Design for Aurora's Wedding in The Sleeping Beauty , 1939 Unsigned, identified on a label and with stamps from the artist and United Scenic Artists on the reverse. Oil and ink on paperboard, 12 x 20 in. (30.5 x 50.8 cm), framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. N.B. The present work was created for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, 1939-40 Season, performed at the 51st Street Theatre in New York City.
