Annette Lemieux (American, b. 1957) Sublime Harmony Signed and numbered "Lemieux 3/9" on the underside. Mixed media (Reuge Music cylindrical mechanism, and silkscreened bell jar) sculpture, 11 1/2 x 5 1/ 4 in. diameter, mounted to a stepped wooden base. Condition: Functional, but with one disconnected spring. Provenance: From the estate of Joan Sonnabend, Boston, Massachusetts. N.B. The present work was commissioned for curator Claudia Gould's Music Box Project (1994), which comprised of seventeen works by contemporary artists in collaboration with the Swiss music box company Reuge.
