LANDERS/CO. G/5th Reg. R.I.V. Note: John B. Landers enlisted as a private in Company F, 1st Rhode Island Detached Militia on May 2nd, 1861, wounded at the battle of Bull Run July 21st, 1861, first sergeant in Company G, 5th Rhode Island Heavy Artillery on October 10th, 1862, promoted to 2nd Lieutenant of Company I on April 10th18C, 1863, promoted to 1st Lieutenant of Company F on January 1st, 1865, mustered out of service June 26th, 1865.
