Fourteen Chinese Export Porcelain Dinner Plates, China, late 18th century, twelve dinner plates and two soup plates, the plates' central landscape design is similar to a dinner service made for DeWitt Clinton (1769-1828) and his wife Maria (Franklin) Clinton, possibly on the occasion of their marriage in 1796, centered with a polychrome enameled waterway landscape with blossoming branch rim borders, (imperfections), dia. 9 1/8 in. Provenance: Estate of Peter Rosenberg.
