(Lugt, 1460b) in ink l.r. Fileuse chalk with applied grid, the verso blackened for transfer, on watermarked paper with a collector's stamp on the reverse , 13 5/16 x 9 3/16 in. (35.0 x 23.5 cm); L'Amour chalk on paper, 12 1/4 x 8 in. (31.0 x 20.3 cm). Condition: Fileuse with staining, rippling, toning, creases, nicks and wear to edges of sheet, hinged to back mat; Amour with toning, handling creases, hinged to window mat with cellophane tape in two places. Provenance: Purchased from Ernest Brown & Phillips, Ltd., London, 1961.
