Six-piece Kidney, Cann & Johnson Coin Silver Tea and Coffee Service, New York, 1860s, each with pear-form body decorated with central reserve of repousse flowers, and faux bois handle, spout, and feet, coffeepot, ht. 11 1/4, teapot, creamer, covered sugar, and waste bowl all inscribed "JMD to AMCD," coffeepot, creamer, and sugar also marked for retailer F.W. Cooper 131 Amity St. N.Y.; and a covered butter dish with removable insert inscribed "RD to AMCD" and only marked for retailer Cooper, approx. 152.5 troy oz. weighable silver; together with a Barbour silver-plated tray, lg. handle over handle 31 in. Provenance: Purportedly descended through the family of J. Clarence Davies, prominent real estate developer of the Bronx.
