Painted Pine Seaman's Chest, New England, early 19th century, the dark green-painted chest with a canvas covered lid opening to a fitted interior with a sliding panel and till painted with geometric designs, the interior showing three sailing vessel, one of which is flying an American flag; the front panel with diamond inlays flanking the initials "OAH," (minor imperfections), ht. 15, wd. 40, dp. 16 3/4 in.
