Holyoke, Samuel (1762-1820) The Columbian Repository of Sacred Harmony. Selected from European and American Authors, with Many New Tunes not before Published . Exeter, New Hampshire: Henry Ranlet, [1803]. Oblong folio, in original half sheep and blue paper boards, title printed within a type ornament border; title torn and almost completely detached, one preliminary leaf detached, contents toned, with scattered minor worming and tears, 8 3/4 x 11 in. Holyoke's was the most exhaustive and comprehensive collection of sacred music published to date in this country. The printer, Henry Ranlet (1762-1807), was active in Exeter, New Hampshire, beginning in 1785.
