Stag-handled Knife, c. mid-19th century, crude iron blade with file marks, horn one-piece grip with brass rivets, blade lg. 9 1/4, overall lg. 14 1/2 in. Provenance: The collection of the Valley Forge Historical Society. Note: Included with the lot is a copy of the receipt for purchasing this knife, dated July 6, 1920, which states "Dagger-14 1/2 inch blade, deer horn handle picked up/on the battlefield of Bull Run by Dr. W. H. Gunckle $2.50."
