Six Carved Wood Architectural Panels, China, 19th/20th century, the center with a deeply carved depiction of figures in a garden (perhaps drawn from classical stories or operas), in each corner a stylized flower, all bordered with a geometric meander, the chamfered panel set in a modern frame, scattered remnants of black lacquer on front, some remaining lacquer and occasional "ghosts" of painted designs on the reverse, each framed, ht. 26 3/4, wd. 25 1/2, dp. 1 1/2 in.
