Daniel Sexton Gurney (American, b. 1931) autograph on paper framed underneath black and white photograph of the renowned race car driver in Porsche at the 1962 Dutch Grand Prix taken by Jesse Alexander. Framed 20.5" x 26.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Walter and Alice Glenn, Alpharetta, Georgia. Note: Gurney won races in the Indy Car, NASCAR, Can-Am, and Trans-Am Series. He was the first driver to win races in Sports Cars in 1958, Formula One in 1962, NASCAR in 1963, and Indy Car in 1967. Jesse Alexander has been involved in photography and especially motorsports photography since the early 1950s when he covered the original Mexican Road Race. He then spent many years in Europe covering Formula One and the famous long distance sports car races, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. His work is held by numerous private collectors and has been exhibited in museums in the United States, including the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Akron Museum and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art._
