Group of two Chinese blue and white kangxi porcelain plates with undulating loose blue decoration under glaze. Both unmarked and with remnants of barnacles and other sea buildup. Diameter of each plate approximately 7.3". Plates purportedly recovered from the Vung Tau, a ship that sank off the coast of Vietnam in the late 17th century. Provenance: According to the consignor, acquired from Christie's Amsterdam in 1992.
