the Theotokos is depicted wearing an omophorion covered with clouds, symbolizing the Higher World, the usual representation of the Holy Trinity on her head and shoulders is replaced by the three heads with haloes around them, the Christ Child is depicted wearing a light omophorion, both of his hands are resting on the Virgin Mother`s chest, images of the Guardian Angel and Saint Alice are placed on the left and the right borders. Egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on wood panel. Two insert splints on the back (both missing). 31 x 27 cm (12 1/4 x 10 5/8 in.)
