A heavy golden period gown worn by Paulette Goddard as Lucretia Borgia in Bride of Vengeance (Paramount, 1949). The bodice is boned and corseted with slender ornate gold lamé sleeves embellished with faux pearls and gold cording with long gold hanging sleeves lined in black velvet with gold trim. The trained skirt is gathered for fullness, meets the bodice at a high waistline, and is lined in black satin. A Paramount label reads "Paulette Goddard." An image of Goddard in this gown is on page 130 of Hollywood Costume edited by Deborah Nadoolman Landis (London: V&A Publications, 2012).
