A black velvet sequin embellished sheath and velvet cape worn by Esther Williams. The gown is embellished with jet-like sequins in a foliage pattern and sapphire blue embellished petals to the shoulder of the asymmetrical neckline. A label reads "Esther Williams." The cape is crushed velvet with fabric covered buttons, a band collar, and an Esther Williams label. Williams had Esther Williams labels sewn into many of her personal garments. Williams wore the same or similar cape to the 36th Annual Ruby Ball Lifelighters Awards Benefit Gala on October 31, 1987, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and with Lorenzo Lamas in 1983. Link to images available upon request. Accompanied by a royal blue and jet-like bead embellished evening purse with a coil strap and an image of Williams wearing the gown in Cabourg, France, in 1988.
