In the early ’80s, the collective declared the tag dead via this tag in downtown New York. RIP SAMO©. Long live SAMO©. THRSBIRD appropriates the tag Prounced "SAME - OH" perverting the meaning to the popular phrase "Same old" in reference to the incessant use and reuse of Basquiats crown in Contemporary art and aesthetics.
