The first is a framed President Theodore Roosevelt signed document, dated August 14, 1908, appointing Allen Walker as a captain in the Philippine Scouts. The second is a signed letter from Franklin D. Roosevelt to his then vice president, John "Jack" Nance Garner, dated December 9, 1937. The letter appears to be in jest regarding the death of an animal named "Bessie." Signed "Franklin Roosevelt" and framed together with the transmittal envelope.
