A silver tone metal cup given to Elizabeth Taylor by her third husband, Michael Todd. The cup is engraved "Liz," Todd's nickname for Taylor. After his death, she preferred not to be called by that name. Todd is the only one of Taylor's seven husbands she did not divorce; he was killed in a plane crash in 1958. The plane he was flying was called "The Lucky Liz." Taylor wanted to travel with Todd that day, but he insisted she stay at home, taking a photograph of Taylor with him instead. The cup shape is traditionally called a duchess mug; it bears acanthus style leaf decoration on the handle. Height, 5 1/4 inches PROVENANCE From the Estate of Lawrence Kammet, public relations director to Eddie Fisher from the 1950s to the 1970s Categories: Elizabeth Taylor
