A World Boxing Association (WBA) 1992 Boxer of the Year Award presented to Evander Holyfield. In June of 1992, Holyfield defeated Larry Holmes by unanimous decision, and then in November of 1992 Holyfield was defeated by Riddick Bowe. The Holyfield vs. Bowe fight was also named the WBA'a 1992 Fight of the Year. The main portion of the award is a glass bowl, meant to represent the earth, with the main continents represented in frosted glass on the exterior. Affixed to the front side of the bowl are scaled down versions of the gold plated brass sculptures that appear on the WBA's championship belts. The award sits on a wooden base. The base features an engraved plaque that reads "1992/ BOXER OF THE YEAR/ EVANDER HOLYFIELDF/ PRESENTED BY GILBERTO MENDOZA, PRESIDENT WBA." Overall, 9 by 9 by 11 inches Categories: Evander Holyfield
