Sold for:

A 1976 MCI Crusader tour bus purchased with funds provided by Elvis Presley for his supporting vocalists The Stamps, which were led by Elvis’ mentor and dear friend J. D. Sumner. The bus was custom designed and embellished inside and out with the TCB lightning-bolt logo, standing for “Taking Care of Business,” Elvis' personal motto. Sumner’s daughter recounts how her father was moved to tears by Elvis’ offer to buy him a new tour bus and how not long after the bus was purchased Elvis took it out for a joy ride and had to pull off the road into a field in order to get the bus turned around and headed back home to Graceland. The 40-foot-long Model MC-8 features a fluted stainless steel exterior, power steering, and an automatic transmission and contains nine individual sleeping berths, seating for 12, air conditioning, a television, a refrigerator, a safe, and a newly added exterior-mounted flat-screen TV for group viewing. Also included are copies of the original registration and the signed $25,000 check provided by Elvis to cover the down payment on the bus. Categories: Elvis Presley
