A vintage work dress worn by Ann B. Davis as Alice Nelson in the hit television series The Brady Bunch (Paramount Television, 1969-1974). The garment, by Shane Uniform Co., consists of a medium blue knee-length dress with short cuffed sleeves, curved pockets, square neckline, and two rows of self-fabric covered buttons in the front. The dress was custom modified for use onscreen in the series in several ways: The original hidden button placket running the length of the dress front has been sewn closed, and hidden hooks and eyes have been added between the buttons to prevent gaping during filming. Davis wore several versions of the maid outfit over the course of the series, and this particular style is perhaps the most identifiable version. The Brady Bunch was a cultural phenomenon, enduring in the minds of Americans and in syndication for decades. The series has spawned several spin-offs, made-for-TV movies, and parody theatrical releases as well as a touring stage show and countless specials and documentaries on both network and cable TV. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Categories:
