A black and red checked silk taffeta period gown made for Katharine Hepburn. The gown was previously attributed as being designed by Walter Plunkett for The Little Minister (RKO, 1934), but is not seen in the final cut of the film. The two-piece gown consists of a fitted boned bodice with velvet collar and cuffs embellished with applied ivory flowers and jet-like buttons and a full skirt. The bodice has a bias label inscribed "C-1116 1840" and "Francis Dee Pd.87105-B." The skirt has a bias label inscribed "Hepburn C-1116 1840." Originally from the collection of Debbie Reynolds.
