A steel blue silk faille period dress worn by Piper Laurie as Angelique "Lela" Dureau in The Mississippi Gambler (Universal, 1953). The dress has black floral lace panels, neckline and ruched bell sleeves, floor-length full skirt, with hook and eye and snap back closure. A Universal International label is inscribed “Piper Laurie.” Worn in the final scene when Laurie realizes that she belongs with Tyrone Power and races to the boat. Also worn by one of the women jurors in Rails into Laramie (Universal, 1954). Costume design by Bill Thomas. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a copy of The Mississippi Gambler.
