Former Shepard Fairey assistant Cleon Peterson's apocalyptic and sadistic End of Empire depicts the dystopian mayhem that Peterson has become known for. This gory work draws direct comparison to Greco-Roman pottery scenes with looming "Shadows" enacting their revenge on well-heeled clientele who appear regretfully submissive to a tortured end. The lost empire leering the background is reminiscent of a Hollywood mansion and may be a nod to the gentrification, which Peterson and other artists are in constant battle against. EST $500-700 Categories: Street Art
