This cabinet was originally designed for the home of Nakashima’s early patrons, the Hammer family of Kings Point, New York.
Nakashima served as both architect and interior designer for their home, which was published in the New York Times, August 19, 1951, in an article called 'The Handcraft Theme' by Betty Pepis.
Sold with a copy of the original order card and a letter of authentication from Mira Nakashima. Cabinet features eight drawers with walnut burl pulls.
