Violin is most likely ash and has a fitted inlay around edging; measures approximately 23" long; several repairs have been made and a full list of repairs done in 1935 by A.F. Moglie are included as well as his assessment of the item that reads "my opinion as to your violin's originality, it is undoubtedly as old English violin of first rate, and in excellent state of preservation"; A.F. Moglie also wrote out a list of the names signed to the inside of the violin top which consists of three separate repairers/ cleaners of the instrument; all together the provenance documentation consists of five pages; also includes various packs of strings, a bow, violin rosin, and two cases (one is an early 19th century wood case made by Captain Blair Bolling (the son of the original owner of the violin, Archibald Bolling) and one a black snap shut case).
