Wisdom of Crop The Conjurer, (The). Wellington: Printed by F. Houlston and Son, (ca. 1820). Yellow wraps with vignette and captions of A Tinker and A Jew on the front and rear wrapper, respectively. Woodcut frontispiece, woodcuts in text. 16mo. In custom slipcase and sleeve with spine gilt stamped. Faint pinholes at corners of pages; very good. Scarce. Toole Stott 888. Likely James Findlay’s copy of this “wee” book, as the slipcase and sleeve are of a style similar to other rare books from his library, though Findlay’s bookplate is absent.
