W. N. Schnell (American, 20th century) Chromed metal hood ornament or car mascot for Pierce Arrow, circa 1930. "Tireur d'Arc" engraved below archer's bent left leg. "W.N. SCHNELL" engraved behind nude male figure. Underside of the base and reads "TERNSTEDT MFG. CO." with circular mark and "DESIGN PATENT PENDING". Screw bottom rests in stained circular wood base. Overall height including base 6.5". W.N. Schnell designed hood ornaments for Pierce Arrow, General Motors and other automotive companies.
