Herman Homar's magic trunk. Sturdy metal-bound theatrical trunk manufactured by B.B. Trunk Co., used by Herman Homar, billed on Chautauqua and Lyceum circuits as the "Wizard of the West." Three- tiered trunk contains some of the props used by Homar, including a Dove-Rat Bottle, Okito Glass, spring production baby, a quantity of hat coils, Organ Pipes, several sets of spirit slates (some in original packaging and stamped "Chicago Magic Co.), bells possibly used for a spirit séance effect, and a high silk top hat. Lid of the trunk is lettered in red paint with Homar's name and billing. 1920s – 30s. Condition of contents worn and used, but generally good. Trunk shows wear, rust and many scratches from use; front lock broken, but solid and sturdy.
