Frank W. Skinner (American, 1878-1942), "View of Lake Superior", oil on canvas board. Verdant and bright work depicting a Lake Superior landscape with billowy clouds and mountains in the background, birch and fir trees in full bloom. Signed lower right by the artist "Frank W. Skinner". Note: Skinner studied at the Cumming School of Art in Des Moines, Iowa as well as at the Chicago Academy and the Art Students League in New York. As a Midwestern artist, Skinner is best known for his painted scenes of the Superior National Forest and North Shore of Lake Superior. As such this work is representative of his signature subject. Framed 20.75" x 24.50". Unframed 15.75" x 19.75".
