20th century Herend porcelain 5 piece service for 12 in the Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern comprised of the following pieces: 12 dinner plates, 12 salad plates, 12 bread and butter plates, 12 cups and 12 saucers (60 pieces). First created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, the Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.
